In late 2017, we started asking a hard question: could the jewelry industry keep the plastic packaging it depends on, without the waste that comes with it?
That search led to Being Humanity — Jewelarc International's initiative to help the wider jewelry industry reduce plastic waste at the source, by replacing standard poly bags with home compostable ones.
Being Humanity is an initiative of Jewelarc International, a jewelry design, development, manufacturing, and distribution company operating globally since 2002 — serving wholesale, retail, and catalog markets.
Sustainability isn't a marketing line for us — it's operational. Being Humanity is the packaging side of a company that already holds itself to this standard.
Being Humanity is backed by Jewelarc International's own compliance record — verified by independent bodies, not just self-reported.
Ethical, social, and environmental standards across all aspects of our operations.
Internationally recognized certification for consistent processes and customer satisfaction.
Covers energy efficiency, waste reduction, and responsible resource management.
Production standards, quality control, ethical practices, and workplace safety.
Validates transparency and capability against international partner expectations.
We began our sustainability program in 2017 with waste-control systems across food, office, and manufacturing waste. We've since eliminated all single-use plastic from our own workplace — around 1.5 tonnes a year — and every shipped product now goes out in HOME compostable packaging. Our target: 100% carbon sequestration by 2027, backed by a Planet Ark partnership to plant 500 trees in 2025 and rooftop solar coming by the end of 2027.
